In the trunk, there are 2 helmets and disposable caps (which are thrown away after the ride). Registration is possible upon reaching the age of 16 and having a driver's license.

Public Transport in Georgia

The official (outdated) public transport application in Tbilisi from the Tbilisi Transport Company (operator of the metro, buses, and cable cars in Tbilisi):

Payment and Tickets

The cost of bus fare in Batumi is 30 tetri, while the cost of bus and metro fare in Tbilisi is 1 lari.

You can pay for the bus fare with a transport or bank card (in Tbilisi there is also a pass) by tapping the card on the electronic validator. After payment, the fare for buses and metro will not be deducted for the next 1.5 hours. You can pay for Batumi fare with the Tbilisi card (you cannot pay for Tbilisi fare with the Batumi card).

Payment can be checked on the bus or at bus stops. A fine is imposed for riding without payment.

Buy a transport card and pass

Batumi

You can buy a card at orange Payboxes:

  1. Select English language;
  2. Select "Transport Card Issuance";
  3. Enter the id number (differs by 2 digits from the passport number, you can either enter arbitrary 2 digits at the beginning/end, or enter any digits at all).
  4. Pay for the card - 2 lari, which will be credited to the balance.

You can also get the card in the area of Gorgasali 55 (for free, zero balance) or in stores (2 lari, credited to the balance).

Tbilisi

You can buy a transport card (metrocard) and a pass at the ticket offices at any metro station or near cable cars.

The card is valid on the metro, buses, minibusses and cable cars.

Buying a Metrocard:

  1. Approach the ticket office and ask for a metrocard;
  2. Ask to top up the balance by the desired amount;
  3. Pay for the card (2 lari) and for the balance top-up;
  4. Keep the receipt, it can be used to return the card and get back 2 lari (within a month after purchase).

Buying a transport pass:

  1. Go to the ticket office and ask for an unlimited transport card;
  2. Choose a tariff:
    1. Day (3 lari);
    2. Week (20 lari);
    3. Month (40 lari);
    4. 3 months (100 lari);
    5. Half-year (150 lari);
    6. Year (250 lari).
  3. Pay for the card (2 lari) and for the chosen tariff;
  4. Keep the receipt, it can be used to restore the card in case of loss.

Refilling a transportation card

  1. Approach the orange PayBox;
  2. Place the transportation card on the reader;
  3. Deposit the required amount;
  4. Place the transportation card on the reader.

Buses

They run everywhere continuously according to a schedule. There are electronic boards at the stops with the nearest buses and their arrival time.

On the operator's official website, you can view routes and schedules of trips, as well as track the trips in real-time;

Routes in Tbilisi

On the official website of the operator, you can:

  • Check the arrival time of the nearest buses;
  • Track the flights in real-time;
  • See the nearest buses at the required stop. Each stop has a number, and by sending an SMS to the number 93344, you will receive information about the arrival time of the next bus in response;
  • Plan a trip with transfers within the city.

Tbilisi Bus Stations

At bus stations, you can buy tickets for minibuses/private trips between cities or neighboring countries:

  • Didube - routes to Mtskheta, Kazbegi, Gudauri, Borjomi, Gori, Batumi, Kutaisi, Russia;
  • Central Bus Station - routes to Yerevan, Turkey, Greece, Russia;

Metro

There are 2 lines in Tbilisi: Akhmeteli-Varketili (16 stations) and Saburtalo (7 stations). There is a transfer station between the lines at the station square.

Tbilisi metro operating hours: from 06:00 to 24:00.

Trains

You can view the train schedule on the official website of Georgian Railways. On the same website, you can also purchase tickets without the option to choose seats. Additionally, you can read the instructions for purchasing and refunding tickets.

A much more convenient service for purchasing tickets is Matarebeli. In this service, you can choose your seat.

Other

Cable Cars

In Tbilisi, you can pay for transport with a transport card (Metrocard) or a bank card (unlimited transfers for 90 minutes do not apply to cable cars).

Rike-Narikala costs 2.5 lari;

Vake-Turtle Lake costs 1 lari.

Cable cars also exist in Batumi ("Argo"), Kutaisi, and Chiatura (10 passenger lines).

Funicular

There is only one funicular in Tbilisi - in Mtatsminda Park. You can only pay for the ride with a special card, which you can buy at the entrance (price 2 lari). The same card is used to pay for all the attractions in Mtatsminda Park. One-way fare costs 8 lari.
