Mziuri Park is a large green space located in the Vake district of Tbilisi, Georgia. The name Mziuri means "sunny" in Georgian, and the park is indeed a bright spot in the city.

The park covers a vast area, making it an excellent place for outdoor recreation. Visitors can stroll along winding paths, sit by a small lake, and have a picnic on the manicured lawns. The park also has children's areas, basketball and football courts, a parkour block, and more. Sculptures and installations can be found throughout the park.

The park is also home to the social cafe "Mziuri." The cafe supports important social initiatives and strives to popularize them. It participates in events aimed at protecting human rights, the environment, and animal rights. It offers its space and equipment for all socially significant events.

Park History

In 1975, he wrote in the newspaper "Literary Georgia": "Don't imitate and wouldn't it be better in the valley of the Vera River, starting from the place where the zoo is now located, than to build a Georgian 'Disneyland' before the Vake-Saburtalo intersection?" A whole group of architects worked on the park project.

The idea of creating Mziuri belongs to Georgian writer Nodar Dumbadze. The park was opened in 1982. The park also features statues of Georgian literary characters (mostly Nodar Dumbadze).

On June 13, 2015, Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia, experienced severe flooding, which led to significant destruction and human losses. The disaster was caused by heavy rain that fell on the city and its surroundings. The zoo and Mziuri Park (the park was almost completely washed away) were hit the hardest.

The park began to be restored the following year, and restoration work is still ongoing. In 2022, the Tbilisi City Hall purchased adjacent territories, planning to create recreational areas on them.
